SELECTION PRINCIPLE

Credentials must fit the assignment

A medical-device reviewer, a legal translator, a conference interpreter and a software localizer do not need the same profile. Resource selection is based on the actual content, language pair and intended use.

Delivery roles

Who may work on a project

Translator

Responsible for faithful meaning, terminology, register, completeness and target-language quality.

Reviser / reviewer

Checks the translation against the source, focusing on accuracy, terminology, omissions, numbers, names and context.

Subject specialist

Used where technical, medical, legal, regulatory or product knowledge is material to safe and correct delivery.

Interpreter

Selected for language direction, subject matter, meeting format, mode and onsite/remote operating conditions.

Project manager

Controls scope, resources, deadlines, client instructions, versions, escalations and delivery.

DTP / localization QA

Handles layout, UI constraints, multilingual formatting, file integrity and final visual checks where required.

Resource qualification

How people are matched to work

  1. 1

    Language and locale

Native/near-native competence and target-market familiarity are checked first.

  2. 2

    Subject experience

Relevant legal, medical, technical, financial, marketing or localization background is considered.

  3. 3

    Task competence

Translation, revision, interpreting, post-editing and DTP require different evidence and skills.

  4. 4

    Confidentiality and workflow fit

Access is limited to assigned work and governed by project instructions and confidentiality requirements.

  5. 5

    Quality feedback

Delivery quality, corrections and client feedback inform future assignment decisions.
